Your first visit with StillPoint focuses on understanding exactly how your dizziness, vertigo, or balance issues affect your daily life.
During your evaluation, your therapist will:
Review your medical history and symptoms in detail to identify possible causes of your dizziness, imbalance, or motion sensitivity.
Perform specialized balance and vestibular testing (neurological screening, positional testing, and spatial orientation assessments) to narrow down the source of your symptoms.
Evaluate your strength, coordination, and mobility in your own space, so we can design exercises and strategies that fit your home environment.
Provide education and reassurance about what’s happening in your orientation systems and what recovery looks like.
Develop a personalized treatment plan, including an outline of your first exercises, safety strategies, and a discussion regarding follow-up sessions.
Your therapist will also take time to answer questions and make sure you understand what to expect in your recovery process. Most clients leave the first visit with a better understanding of their condition, less anxiety, and practical steps they can start right away.
StillPoint provides in-home physical therapy throughout the Austin area, specializing in vestibular, balance, and dizziness rehabilitation. Our goal is to restore comfort, confidence, and stability.
If you are experiencing new-onset continuous vertigo (lasting hours or days), double vision, headache, weakness, sudden hearing loss, or difficulty walking, please seek medical attention from a physician immediately.
